Injured Workers
Stories: We are compiling anonymous evidence from injured
workers about any abuse they have experienced by workers compensation systems
across Canada. We do not handle individual cases but will use your case as an
example of
WCB wrongdoing. A page has been added to the CIWS website where injured
workers can tell us their story. This includes an online form to make it
easier. See http://www.ciws.ca/injured_workers_stories.htm
Media Outreach: Ongoing letters
are being sent out to a wide range of reporters across Canada. The media list
is continually being expanded and updated.
Petition: The CIWS has an
online
petition in progress. We are collecting signatures to call for a federal
public judicial inquiry into Criminal Code and Charter of Rights violations by
workers compensation boards across Canada.
Election
Watch: The CIWS is developing a strategy to encourage the
election of provincial Ministers who will take action for injured workers
issues. See
