WCB has wiped their hands clean of me . . . I am a single parent of two kids

" . . . WCB have decided that I am completely fit to work . . . my doctor has labeled my arm completely unusable, I am on narcotics on a regular basis, getting lidocane and cortisone injections to attempt to keep the pain at a managable level, and WCB has wiped their hands clean of me . . . I am a single parent of two kids . . . I do hope that someone has luck with changing this system because it seriously needs changing."

I am unsure where to begin with the injustice of the WCB.

I have been in and out of the system since 2001. I had surgery for carpul tunnel in 2001 and had to have 6 weeks off. I attended Millard health at that time, when I was dismissed my physiotherapist told me that because of the chronic pain syndrome, my hand was not going to get any better, and unfortunately that was just the way that it was. I returned to work after 6 weeks or so.

Although I was still in excrutiating pain, and was returning to a fulltime job of typing, my wcb worker told me that pain is not a disabilitating factor, therefore I could not remain off work,

I continued to work off and on at my place of employment with bouts of time off due to the pain in my hand. In the duration of this I was under so much immense stress I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and continued to attempt to work. I then had experienced tennis elbow pain, in the same arm, and had to have continuous time off for that. (I believe the tennis elbow was a direct effect of the pain continuing to transfer from my wrist to my elbow because I didn't get enough recouperation time from my surgery and was forced back into fulltime work)

In 2004 it had gotten to the point that it was so bad I had to have surgery for that. In the mean time, I lost my job over this, because I was now a liability to the company. After my surgery it became apparent to WCB that I could no longer work in an office type setting . . . therefore they decided to retrain me, however, they gave me one year to complete a course from start to finish, therefore because I had already completed my first year of business administration on my own, that was the obvious choice for them to put me into, to finish my business admin degree. So I was thrust into school fulltime . . . However, once completing this in 2005, it gave me absolutely nothing but the ability to yet again start out in an office setting again.

So, here it is 2007 and I haven't worked since, WCB have decided that I am completely fit to work . . . my doctor has labeled my arm completely unusable, I am on narcotics on a regular basis, getting lidocane and cortisone injections to attempt to keep the pain at a managable level, and WCB has wiped their hands clean of me for almost a year and a half now.

I am a single parent of two kids, and I know there are people out there abusing this system on a regular basis. I am someone who really got abused by this wonderful system and I don't know how to go about fixing it. Appeals are useless because you are appointed a wcb lawyer, which basically means that you walk in there misrepresented to begin with, therefore I have done nothing.

I have a file with wcb 2 feet thick from all of this nonsense and I need someone to hear my story. I do hope that someone has luck with changing this system because it seriously needs changing. And I give you full permission to use my name in this complaint. Thank you so much for listening to me.
